The Alliance for NanoHealth is proud to announce the next ANH Lunch Meeting on January 18, 2008. The University of Texas at Austin's Dr. Shaochen Chen will be featured as the event’s keynote speaker. You are cordially invited to attend this lunch session and encouraged to participate in the networking reception. Dr. Chen is Pearlie D. Henderson
Centennial Endowed Associate Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department
at The University of Texas at Austin. He
received his BE degree in Thermal Engineering from Tsinghua University
in 1989 and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California
at Berkeley in 1999. His research interests lie in nanophotonics,
nanomanufacturing, biomaterials and nanomedicine.
Dr. Chen received a CAREER Award
from the National Science Foundation in 2001, an Outstanding Young
Manufacturing Engineer Award from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers in
2002, Outstanding Faculty Award from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005,
and a Best Paper Award from the American Institute of Aeronautics and
Astronautics in 2006.
Professor Chen is an Associate Editor of Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering and Journal of Biomedical Nanotechnology. He is also an Editorial Board member of a journal – Nanomedicine. In 2003, Dr. Chen served as a Guest Editor for IEEE Transactions on Advanced Packaging: Special Issue on NEMS/MEMS Packaging. He is an editor of a book – “Nanomanufacturing” (American Scientific Publishers, 2007). Dr. Chen is a committee member of the ASME Nanotechnology Institute and IEEE Nanotechnology Council. He serves on the technical committee for NEMS/MEMS packaging of the Electronics and Photonics Packaging division, biomanufacturing of the Manufacturing Engineering division, and micro and nano-systems of the Design Engineering division of ASME.
